Inflection Point: Blockchain and Pharmacy

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Almost 70 percent of Americans take at least one prescription drug, generating over $300 billon of healthcare spend. However, as with much of the healthcare sector, pharmacy has been slow to embrace technologies that could improve efficiency and quality of care while providing direct benefit to the patient. Today, we are at an inflection point in pharmacy where market forces and consumer demand are dictating substantive change. This panel will leverage perspectives and approaches to explore whether blockchain technology might help lead to the kind of change in pharmacy that stakeholders have been clamoring for. You will hear from a spectrum of voices including: a novel pharmacy-focused effort trying to achieve social good (Good Shepherd), how pharmacy fits into a broader ecosystem (BurstIQ), and a 30,000 ft view combining pragmatism and vision (Optum).
